I only wear this pair of jeans when working on the KZ.
Promised myself I wouldn't wash these until I'm done with the build.

Chopped the shock mounts off of the old frame to transfer to the new one.

Sanded it down so it'll fit the new gusset.

Like a glove!

Mockup.

Enough work for one day, time to fuck around.

Finally got to work on the KZ.
Stripped her down to the bare minimum so we can work on the frame and electronics. Will re-wire and simplify everything in it.

Looks like my bike's an Ondoy Victim.
For those who don't know, Ondoy was that crazy typhoon we had here in the Philippines back in 2009 where most of the city was submerged in floods.

Looks like this bike wasn't spared.

Frame is now chopped and ready to go...

Milla at the Livestrong Ride, Bonifacio Global City

Monday, September 26, 2011

Brought Remy in for a tune up and ended up taking the whole engine apart. Primary chain guide was brittle as hell, valve seals were loose, and piston rings need replacing. Still waiting for word if parts can be brought in from Japan since they're not available here.

Talked to the mechanic and he said we could fabricate the needed parts in case Japan can't deliver. At least that's some good news. Hopefully the fabricated parts will work as good as the original ones. Can't wait to get her back on the road again.

Good luck to me.

Meet Remy

September 17, 2011

Bought the KZ400.
Can't wait to get her all fixed up and ready to ride.

Named her after my late grandmother who was a feisty li'l woman.
Just like what this ride is gonna be.

I'm gonna start the project by getting the engine in shape first
before I even start screwing around with the design.

This might take a while...
