Amy Jade Winehouse
September 14, 1983 – July 23, 2011
RIP

Gone too soon. She had so much more to give but probably
surrounded herself with the wrong people. You will be missed.
No one else will ever be like you.

6/30/11

Finally put our bikes together today.

Had the frames made last January and they've been sitting at home since.

Mang Nestor of Tryon getting Dee's bike up and running.

Dee's ride.

My ride.
Still don't have a name for her yet.

Lola Cresenciana Villanueva Bernardo
November 4, 1918 - May 28, 2011

It's funny how we are all still affected and bothered by death
when we all know for a fact that it will come, ready or not.

I am, of course, saddened about her passing but at least I know
that she is in a much better place with Lolo and everybody else.

Rest in peace, Lola. You will always be in our thoughts and prayers.
And I know I will always be in yours...

Just got back from Bangkok with the family.
What a great, much-needed vacation that was.

Shopping was crazy of course but even crazier was the company.
Lots of funky looking bikes... Saw a couple of mint Honda C70's
and shitloads of well-loved Vespas and Lambrettas.

Got me a pink metal flake helmet for cheap.
Can't wait to open shop here...
Just looking for more stuff to sell.

SR400 for sale in Bangkok. Looks mint... Now, how to take home to the Philippines?

1975 CB125s

From Kawit, Cavite to Makati loaded on a CRV.
We can already see what this thing is going to look like
when we're done with her... Light, quick and fucking beautiful.

Thoughts and Prayers for our Brothers and Sisters in Japan.

Ever since I got word of the earthquake and Tsunami in Japan,
I've just been glued to the TV and computer reading up on what's been going on and shit. It's terrible and absolutely sad - seeing all the kids and elderly people wrapped up in blankets, etc.

I can't help but think of Joni Mitchell's song, Lakota.
That's exactly what's happening now...
And it's all our fucking fault.
We keep taking from Mother Earth without ever giving ANYTHING back.
Seriously, what have you done for her lately?
I, myself, have not given jack.
We can't expect Mother Earth to keep on going on forever without us giving anything back.
Everything happens for a reason...
it's quite sad to think that WE are the reason for this.

We really must wake up and smell the fucking slime...
This is Mother Earth trying to tell us something.
We should go back to basics. Living properly and living well.
Take only what you need and nothing more.
Care for Mother Earth.
Treat ALL THINGS with respect and love.
It's time we show her some respect...

Found a nail stuck to my rear tire over the weekend.
Taking that rear tire off for vulcanizing is a major bitch.
Putting it back was too.

Found myself in Bacolod last Wednesday
for the Philippines vs. Mongolia football match in Pana-ad.
My cousins and I have planned this way ahead of time
and it was great to finally get there.

We flew in on the day of the match itself.
Settled down and chilled out for a bit before heading to the venue
for the tailgate party.

Caught up with some buddies from Manila right outside
and loaded up on alcohol before the game.

It was nice to see a whole lot of people flying in from Manila
to show some love for the Azkals. Good fucking thing we won.

My cousins Mikey and Tip.

My buddy Ebong, the blue-haired fanatic.

Back home in Manila now. Crap.

The PI Jazzfest is here again.
Our Bateria will be playing tonight at the Venice Piazza.
Of course they got the group's name wrong.
It's Escola de Samba de Manila, not ESCOLTA.
BUT, it don't matter. The music does.
